The generational handover of the family business marked a crucial turning point for the historic Enoteca Gambi in Florence, a place that has been a reference point for wine enthusiasts for decades. The aim was to enhance the existing labels, offering a carefully selected and prestigious assortment to develop the excellence and tradition that made the wine shop famous. Additionally, it was necessary to improve logistics to facilitate the storage of bottles, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and perfect preservation of the wines.
To meet the needs of the new wine shop, the project involved the creation of elegant handcrafted shelving, designed through the creative reuse of iron and wood, resulting in a modular composition to be assembled on-site. The carpentry and woodworking work allowed for the creation of an environment that evokes the scent of wooden barrels and the craftsmanship of Tuscan wineries and beyond. By creating perforated cases, compartments were established to facilitate the rear storage of bottles while highlighting each prestigious label in the front. This was complemented by warm lighting, ornamental plants, and the raw finishes of exposed walls, contributing to an authentic experience that recalls the tradition of wine culture within the shop.
